Invision sells stake in Kraft & Bauer

INVISION sold its majority stake in Kraft & Bauer to a fund advised by Deutschen Beteiligungs AG (DBAG). Kraft & Bauer was acquired in 2013 as part of a succession solution from its founder Klaus Bauer. With the divestment, the last portfolio company of the 2008 vintage INVISION IV L.P. fund was successfully realized.

„Since INVISION invested in Kraft & Bauer, the company experienced an annualized growth of over ten percent. Customers appreciate the high quality of Kraft & Bauer’s products as well as the excellent service,“ explains Martin Spirig, responsible Partner at INVISION. Frank Becker, Managing Partner at INVISION, adds: „This is the merit of the management with founder Klaus Bauer and managing director Frank Foddi as well as all employees of Kraft & Bauer, whom we would like to thank for the successful cooperation.”

„Over the past five years, Kraft & Bauer and INVISION were able to implement major growth initiatives, such as the development of the latest generation of fire extinguisher control systems, the expansion of the product range into flame absorption, the acquisition of new customers and continued internationalization into Italy. „We are delighted to have DBAG at our side in the future, as a partner with extensive experience in the mechanical engineering sector.”

“We are investing in a company that has achieved a leading position in its niche market with products that are critical to both success and safety,” explained Dr Rolf Scheffels, member of the DBAG Board of Management, when the contract was signed this week. “Kraft & Bauer is benefiting not only from its strong market position, but also from the growing importance of fire protection measures for machine tools overall.”
