Gerhard Weisschädel joined Invision as Partner

One of Europe’s most distinguished private equity entrepreneurs strengthens Invision AG as a new Partner

Zug, Switzerland, October 11, 2005 – Invision is pleased to announce that Gerhard Weisschädel joined Invision as Partner following 5 years as Managing Director of Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS), a leading US private equity firm. Gerhard Weisschädel was based in London with responsibility for investments in Europe. “With his outstanding track record as international private equity investor and business leader, Gerhard ideally complements our team,” notes Invision Partner Dr. Bernd Pfister.

Gerhard Weisschädel acted during his time with VSS as CEO of Mediatel Holding (Yellow Bricks Road Group (YBR)), Vienna, a yellow page company led by VSS and 3i Plc., the UK private equity house. The private equity houses invested EUR 300 million in the company. In March 2005 YBR was sold for EUR 1.825 million to the Macquarie-Group booking more than EUR 900 million profit to the equity investors.

Prior to this, he served from 1995-2000 as CEO of Deutsche Telekom Media (incl.
T-Online) and as Managing Director of Deutsche Telekom AG. In 1992 Gerhard Weisschädel founded CTS Event Team, a computer ticketing service company, and acted as CEO until its successful sale in 1995.

From 1985 he spent 7 years at Tandem Computers as Director of Sales and Marketing for Europe and later as CEO of the Software Division. He began his career in 1975 at Nixdorf Computer AG in a variety of sales and marketing positions, culminating in three years as Head of Sales and Marketing in the Asia Pacific region.

At Invision, Gerhard Weisschädel, with a degree from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany, will be focusing on media and entertainment as well as information technology opportunities. Thanks to his extensive network, experience in business development and operational skills, he will also be able to support Invision’s current portfolio companies. On top of that, Gerhard will leverage Invision’s ability to support the internationalization and fast multiplication of business concepts across Europe and abroad. “I’m looking forward to the new challenge,” says Weisschädel. “Invision is already one of Europe’s most successful growth capital investors. We will endeavour to set new standards in building a first class pan-European private equity house.”

He speaks German and English and is a German national.
