Esmertec’s Jbed Advanced product available
on Freescale’s 2.5G cellular platform

6, 2005 – The Esmertec™ (SWX: ESMN) high-performance
Jbed Advanced multi-tasking Java™ Virtual Machine has been
successfully ported to the Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL,
FSL.B) i.250 cellular platform.
By combining Freescale’s powerful i.250 platform with Jbed
Advanced, handset manufacturers, operators and application developers
have a highly adaptable and customizable platform to offer multimedia
services at mass-market price points to consumers worldwide.

for Freescale. “Esmertec’s Jbed Advanced solution
is designed to deliver software quality and performance, and when
added to our 2.5G cellular platform, it responds advantageously
to market demands.”
Freescale’s i.250 platform is a comprehensive 2.5G cellular
platform solution designed to reduce time-to-market for manufacturers
of GSM/GPRS wireless products. Esmertec’s Jbed Advanced
is the first commercially available multi-tasking Java Virtual
Machine enabling end users to experience rich and compelling Java
applications on their handsets.

are demanding for their next-generation GSM/GPRS handsets,”
