Netviewer wins a strategic investor

Invision AG invests 2.5 million Euro in the web collaboration specialists

Karlsruhe/Zug, 06/13/05 — The Swiss investment company Invision AG based in Zug has invested 2.5 million Euro in Netviewer GmbH, the leading European supplier of web collaboration and desktop sharing solutions based in Karlsruhe, Germany. Netviewer intends to use the capital inflow to push international growth and to drive forward their product development.

The market for web collaboration solutions has been characterised by strong growth for a period of years. The product spectrum ranges from internet-based software allowing users to view each other´s screens simultaneously, to web-conferencing solutions. Analysts from Frost & Sullivan expect continued annual growth averaging 33 percent until 2009. With the strategic investor’s commitment, Netviewer intends to exploit this dynamic environment to build upon their leading position in Europe.

Netviewer GmbH has experienced remarkable development since its foundation in 2001: the company broke even within months and has enjoyed continuous profitability since then. Netviewer currently counts more than 2300 companies from over 30 different countries to its customers, and the number of customers continues to increase month for month. As a result, Netviewer is one of the fastest growing software companies.

One of the basic principles of Invision AG in its investments is to strategically support the portfolio company and to actively apply its team to generate added value. The companies benefit not only from capital inflow; they also profit directly from the experience of and the extensive network maintained by the investment team. This support covers all areas of the company from the strategic and product development to financial consulting.

“We were able to win a renowned institutional investor with Invision AG,” says Netviewer CEO Dr. Andreas Schweinbenz. “This commitment from Invision is a confirmation of our positioning and our corporate strategy. With Invision we have not only an institutional investor but a strategic partner for our company who can help us to perform."

Martin Ankli, the responsible investment professional and partner of Invision AG, also welcomes the co-operation. “When we first began studying Netviewer and its market environment, we quickly realised that Netviewer addresses an enormous growth potential. The web-collaboration market is booming and Netviewer is extremely well positioned—not only because of their product range, but also their impressive licensing model, an intelligent sales strategy, motivated work force and, not least, because of their excellent management. The company has a solid financial basis and is highly profitable even today, which is reason enough for high expectations of our future together.
