TRADOS Momentum in 2004 Highlights Growth with Language
Service Providers
With advanced solutions, LSPs play greater role in global information
lifecycle
Sunnyvale, Calif. – March 31, 2005 – TRADOS Inc.,
the world leader in global information solutions, today announced
additional results from its record-setting 2004 fiscal year, including
a 54% net revenue growth in sales to language service providers
(LSPs) over the previous year. TRADOS attributes the industry-leading
growth to its continuing focus and investment in this important
market.
LSPs are critical in helping companies with globalization –
eliminating the need for enterprises to work directly with dozens
of translation vendors and freelancers that result in limited
managerial oversight. As a single point of contact and accountability,
LSPs offer their clients the benefits of lower costs, higher productivity,
and consistent quality. The services LSPs provide – from
content creation to translation to globalization consulting –
also eliminate the expensive need for companies to develop these
specialized capabilities in-house.
TRADOS provides LSPs with enterprise-class technology that enables
them to meet the rising demands of global clients. With TRADOS,
LSPs are able to deliver even greater top- and bottom-line benefits
to their clients, such as faster turnaround times, higher work
quality, greater cost savings, improved productivity, and consistent
branding.
Kevin Bolen, vice president of sales and marketing for Bowne
Global Solutions, attested, “As the world’s leading
globalization services provider, our clients include many Global
500 companies who have come to expect the highest quality work
from us. TRADOS enables a company our size, with operations in
24 countries, to run smoothly and efficiently – managing
the process from client down to the individual freelancer. TRADOS
is a critical element in helping us provide reliable, high-quality
globalization services on time and within our client’s budget.”
Bill Seawick, chief marketing officer of TRADOS, explained the
market need: “Enterprises are demanding more than translation
from LSPs. The hyper-competition we are seeing requires businesses
to focus more on overcoming the key challenges in reaching world
markets. These include delayed product and campaign launches,
inconsistent multinational branding, low customer satisfaction
due to poor communications, and operational inefficiencies in
their globalization processes. Deployed by LSPs, TRADOS solutions
optimize the entire global information lifecycle – from
authoring to content management to localization to publishing.
With TRADOS, LSPs can now help enterprises overcome these persistent
barriers to success.”
Sales of TRADOS server-based global information solutions, and
in particular TRADOS TeamWorks, have reached record levels in
the last year. A recent survey by the Localization Industry Standards
Association (LISA) also showed that TRADOS continues to be the
dominant technology standard with LSPs, with an estimated 71%
of global market share in 2004. With such momentum, TRADOS is
the fastest growing company in the globalization industry.
Steve Desmeules, president and chief executive officer of Accu
Translation, stated, “We looked at other vendors, but only
TRADOS could integrate our globalization processes with workflow
and project management that meets the demands of both our corporate
clients and large number of translation vendors. With TRADOS,
we better manage all our globalization processes and have well
positioned our resources for growth and financial strength.”
Smith Yewell, president and chief executive officer for Welocalize,
added, “We built our business using TRADOS technology which
we recognized early on as the industry standard. In our experience,
only TRADOS has been strong enough to meet our translators’
needs and flexible enough to link into our existing workflows.
TRADOS understands our translation requirements and, they have
been a great partner since we started this business eight years
ago.”
