Dr. Ulrich Schumacher joins Esmertec as a Member
of the Board of Directors
Dr. Schumacher, 46, has over 18 years of experience in the IT
industry and is well reputed as a dynamic and visionary business
leader. In April 1999, he took over the helm of Infineon Technologies,
when it was spun-off from Siemens. He brought the company to the
capital markets in 2000, established it as an industry leader
and led it into profitability.
Prior to Infineon, Dr. Schumacher held different positions at
Siemens, where since 1996 he served as the President and CEO of
the Siemens' Semiconductors Group. In 1998 he became a member
of the Siemens Management Board. Dr. Schumacher holds a doctorate
degree in engineering from the RWTH Institute of technology in
Aachen, Germany, and serves on the board of Deutsche Bahn AG (the
German federal railways).
