Esmertec’s Java™ Virtual Machine (JVM) solution for mobile phones by Panasonic

Esmertec is working with its partner, eValley, a leading exponent for Java software development in Japan, to enable the deployment of Jbed on Panasonic handsets. Presently, over 25% of total commercial phones are Java-enabled and the trend is a strong upward one, to cater to end consumers’ demand for a richer experience and larger variety of Java applications such as games and news-tickers.

Esmertec’s Jbed CLDC, with its unique FastBCC™ compiler technology, is a fieldproven JVM solution specifically designed to power up devices with limited CPU and small memory size, such as mobile phones.

“We are proud to have a major player like Panasonic as a customer,” said Alain Blancquart, CEO of Esmertec. “It is through our customers and their confidence in our products and services that Esmertec is recognized today as a leader in providing wireless Java to the mobile telecommunications market. We will continue to deliver to our customers such as Panasonic innovative and reliable products.”
