Aldata enters into strategic alliance with EDS
Aldata today announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance
with EDS, the leading global service firm, whereby Aldata and
EDS will jointly promote Aldata’s G.O.L.D. supply chain
management software and services to EDS clients in the consumer
goods industry.
Under the terms of the agreement, Aldata will provide G.O.L.D.
supply chain software and EDS will provide consulting, integration
and project related services. Concentrating initially on the retail
and wholesale consumer goods markets in North America, the agreement
covers full collaboration at the technical, functional, project
and support levels. Each company will complement the other's offering
to ensure successful implementation and deployment for customers
at both the application and overall project levels.
As a part of the agreement, a competence and skills transfer
will be effected, in which Aldata will train key EDS personnel
in G.O.L.D. software and methods and, in parallel, EDS will deploy
and resource a G.O.L.D. competence center, initially in the United
States, for demonstration, integration and support purposes. EDS
will also actively contribute in ongoing and future G.O.L.D. projects
and source specific service requirements where necessary.
According to Aldata’s President and CEO, Jarmo Kalliola,
the agreement is a significant step to Aldata to the US market,
which covers 59 % of the total retail software markets (IDC).
‘’ The alliance with EDS secures an equal position
for Aldata with the local competitors, and we will be able to
join sharing out the growing supply chain software markets ‘’
says Kalliola. Aldata believes that the agreement will bring net
sales and profit already this year and help Aldata to reach its
objective to become one of the major players in the retail software
markets.
